What we do
The Association of Professional Compliance Consultants is the only nationwide association of compliance consultancy firms in the UK. Our members advise firms regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK on all aspects of regulatory compliance. We have a regular dialogue with the FCA on compliance matters covering issues where we believe the industry needs further guidance or where additional (or different) regulatory input would be useful. We hold events and workshops on compliance issues including a flagship annual all day event in March held in central London.
While our full members are all compliance consultancy firms we also have affiliate firms who are not members of the APCC but who are service providers to the financial services sector. Affiliate firms gain the benefit of our regular bulletins and updates and ongoing dialogue with the FCA. We are setting up directories on our website of selected specialist service providers to the financial services and compliance sectors, which will be available here.

Appointing a Consultant
|
If you are considering appointing a compliance consultant then an APCC member should be your first choice. APCC members are subject to professional conduct standards and conform to the EU Services Directive. The FSA (now FCA) published guidance to regulated firms on using and appointing compliance consultants. Although this guidance is directed at smaller retail firms it is relevant to all firms. The FCA expects regulated firms to identify the services they require, ensure they appoint a compliance consultancy firm that can meet their needs and then monitor the appointment and act on any recommendations received. The APCC has issued supplementary guidance when appointing a compliance consultancy firm to assist regulated firms in their selection of compliance consultant.
